FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY!
How about an excerpt from my first book?
It's titled:
"The Mystery at... the pier... i guess"
This is from chapter 35 starting at line 62:
Betty looked the grizzled man in the face whilst stiring her pot full of laundry.
"Really, Nancy, you should have someone look at that eye."
"I told you never to call me by that name!"
"but it's your given name, what would you rather have me call you? Bob?"
"You know, i've always told you to call me, 'captian no beard.'"
"But that is rediculous," said the woman going back to her laundry that was probably scorching.
The grizzled haggard man stumbled away from the hearth over to the table. The boat gave a lurch.
"I don't feel so good," said the man as he plopped sown in one of the rough hewn chairs by the oak table.
"Captian no beard," muttered the woman under her breath "He can't even stomach a gentle wave."
The woman then took out the laundry from the pot, and hung it by the warm fire to dry. It was mostly socks, and trousers of the man.

Yep, that's all you get to read of... um... my book...
